Following the huge success of previous recruitment days at the Liverpool Marriott Hotel South for the shops on the New Mersey Shopping Park, JET South Liverpool and Jobcentre Plus have arranged another open day to help recruit staff for almost 300 vacancies over the Christmas period this year.

The recruitment day will take place at the Liverpool Marriott Hotel South, opposite the New Mersey Shopping Park on Speke Road, between 10:00-5:00pm on Monday 13 Sept 2004.

WH Smith, Comet, Gap, Borders, HMV, Next, Early Learning Centre, Currys, Boots, Argos, Burtons/ Dorothy Perkins, Marks & Spencer, JD, Sports Soccer, Wallis, B&Q and Matalan will be available to discuss the vacancies that will run from Oct/Nov until early Jan 2005.

Sandra Hall from JET South Liverpool's Employer Liaison Team explained "There are lots of job opportunities being created in south Liverpool and by working closely with employers and Jobcentre Plus we are trying to make sure that as many of the jobs as possible are offered to people living in Speke, Garston and Netherley Valley."

Sandra continued, "With the continuing growth of the Airport, call centres and lots of city centre job opportunities, even the temporary vacancies have great longer-term prospects. Many of the people that attended last year's event have since moved on to gain permanent employment".
