Speke Carnival
Even the awful weather couldn't dampen the spirits of the people of Speke on 30th June 2007 when they came together for Speke Carnival. Despite torrential rain and flooding, an enthusiastic group of walkers and floats set off around Speke to promote the rest of the event taking place in Parklands.

The whole event was attended by various partners and local groups including Speke Baptist Church, Community Centre, Reed in Partnership, Connexions, Food Workers, Neighbourhood Management Services and SL Housing.

Streets Ahead team members gave out information to clients seeking work and training, signposting our other partners and advising people of the help available in South Liverpool.

They also encouraged people to complete a Learning Questionnaire for Adult Learning to establish the educational and community needs of the area.

Two of the team took part in a very wet Carnival Parade around the centre of Speke, walking for the Ben Nowak Trust.
