Childcare Skills Passport The Skills Passport was developed in consultation with employers to really understand what they would be looking for in the ideal job applicant and importantly, what skills and qualifications that applicants would need to possess and demonstrate in order to influence an employer to offer one person a job rather than the other. That information gained from employers has become the framework for the training, which takes place over a three-week period. The course programme consists of generic skills that could apply to any industry, such as Health & Safety, Risk Assessment, Diversity etc. whilst also providing sector specific training relating to childcare which will contain such subjects as Paediatric First Aid, Child Safeguarding and Basic Child Development. The next course is due to take place at the end of march 2006. For further information contact your local JET or job centre plus offices. |
