John Lewis - Entrepreneur of the Year
A Director of Jet South Liverpool and one of the people behind the success of The Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn has been named Entrepreneur of the Year at a North West awards ceremony.

John Lewis received the accolade at the annual gala dinner of Halton Chamber of Commerce.

The event was attended by Halton MP Derek Twigg as well as local dignitaries, including Runcorn's Mayor and Mayoress, and the leader and chief executive of Halton Borough Council.

The award recognised Mr Lewis' achievements as marketing director of SOG, the company that established The Heath as a centre of scientific and technical excellence four years ago.

More than 100 UK and international companies have already been attracted to the pioneering business park, which was the former Merseyside headquarters of chemicals giant ICI.

Bill Badrock, Chief Executive of Halton Chamber, said: "He has brought investment into the borough - it is not his role, but he has done it. He has also campaigned and promoted on behalf of the second Mersey Crossing."
