Incapacity Benefit Discovery Sessions

On 21st and 23rd March there will be two events taking place in the local communities of Belle Vale and Speke sponsored by Supported Living and the Merseyside Employer Coalition. Local agencies ranging from the Citizens Advice Bureau to the Park Ranger service have come together to put on the fun and stimulating discovery sessions.

The day is about engaging with local people who are currently in receipt of incapacity benefit to raise awareness of advice, support and opportunities that are available locally, but more importantly consulting with them about the services and opportunities that are currently being provided and whether they could be improved or if something completely different should be provided or delivered differently that would enhance their employability and well being.

It is important to note that the work and support we are giving to our local residents is purely on a voluntary basis and not part of any government mandatory scheme. Neither are we receiving any additional funding, it is borne out of a commitment to our local community.

Each day five discovery sessions with the following themes will be provided:

  • Well Being options
  • Finances/Debt / Benefits advice
  • Finding and keeping Employment
  • Healthy Eating
  • Exercise / Fitness
