Penny Earnshaw, Ioma Clothing Ltd

Penny, who lives in Childwall, first visited JET South Liverpool at its shop in Belle Vale Shopping Centre in late 2003, having recently arrived in England from South Africa to join her family.

After meeting with an Information Officer, who established the type of work Penny was interested in, she was put in touch with JET South Liverpool Recruitment, the team who handle temporary staff placements. In order to update her skills, Penny was also given details of an European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) course held by a local training provider.

Following a successful interview, Penny started a temporary contract on as a Receptionist/ Administration Assistant. As Penny still wanted to complete her ECDL qualification, information was given to her regarding a local school that offered training during evening classes. This fitted in with the temporary job, and Penny was pleased to enrol.

When a local employer, Ioma contacted JET South Liverpool regarding a vacancy for a Receptionist, Penny was contacted immediately and guidance was given in the form of interview techniques. Penny successfully "sold" herself to the employer and was offered a permanent contract starting the following Monday.

Penny returned to JET South Liverpool to thank the staff for their help. She said "I am so pleased to have this job and I am really looking forward to starting with the company".
