The different ages of the other people also being trained worked well and helped build a 'family atmosphere'. "The skills that you could use in almost any job, like First Aid and Health & Safety were useful and even where I already had some knowledge, it helped reinforce what I knew and understand how my skills could be applied in a different way. The call centre work at OnCall in Hunts Cross was great too, but really attracted me to the scheme was the guarantee of an interview - especially after so many knock-backs!" Paul completed the Skills Passport in November and was one of nearly 80% of the participants that were offered a job by HBOS following successful ability tests and interviews. "It's great!" said Paul, "I've got a job that really suits me when I didn't think anyone cared. JET South Liverpool was there for me and their work with employers like HBOS is really paying off in helping local people get jobs." |
