Ian Morris, LEAR Corporation

Ian Morris, who lives in Belle Vale, first visited JET South Liverpool at its shop in Speke in 1999 following a long period of unemployment. After participating on an Employment Zone/JET scheme with Ford at Halewood, he secured a six-month contract with the company. He then joined Decoma (formerly known as Conix), the company that manufactures bumpers for the Jaguar X-Type.

Unfortunately, following a company restructure, Ian was made redundant in September 2002. To make matters worse he then broke his kneecap in an accident that meant he was unable to work until July 2003.

After trying unsuccessfully to secure employment, Ian decided to return to JET South Liverpool for help and visited the new shop in Belle Vale Shopping Centre.

After meeting with a JET Guidance Officer to establish the type of work he was interested in, Ian was put in touch with Jet South Liverpool Recruitment, the team that handles temporary staff placements for LEAR Corporation, the company that manufactures the seats for the Jaguar X-Type.

Following a successful interview, Ian started work on a temporary contract as a Production Operative and after three months he was offered a permanent contract.

Ian recently returned to JET South Liverpool to personally thank all the staff that helped him, saying "the JET team were there for me when I needed a job and thankfully they delivered when it mattered most. My family are now really looking forward to this Christmas and I would have no hesitation in recommending JET South Liverpool. Thanks again."
