Extra resources are being spent to:
- Further reduce the time people have to wait to see their doctor
- Speed up times to obtain a hospital appointment or admission
- Help more people stop smoking
- Improve the uptake of cervical screening and vaccinations and immunisations
- Ensure more treatment is undertaken in local health facilities, so that less people have to visit hospital
- Establish a new GP practice in West Speke
- Recruit more doctors and nurses
- Increase the support available to people with anxiety and depression
- Employ more local people in the NHS
- Improve access to services for people with heart disease
